Flame Retardant

Innovative technology that reduces the risk to health and life

Flame-retardant cables are designed to resist the spread of fire along a cable, and are therefore essential in environments where fire risk is a significant concern. We offer flame-retardant solutions tailored to meet the needs of a wide variety of applications.

For the construction industry, we offer a range of Casico™ low smoke and zero halogen (LSZH) solutions that are designed to meet a industry standards. Exhibiting reduced heat release and smoke generation, and producing no corrosive gas emissions, these materials decrease the risk to health and life as well as secondary fire damage to equipment and installations.

For the automotive sector, we offer a broad range of peroxide and irradiation cross-linkable polyethylene (XLPE), flame-retardant compounds, which have been specifically developed for primary wiring applications in vehicles. Cost efficient and delivering enhanced temperature and wear resistance, these materials meet all relevant technical specifications, supporting you to meet increasingly complex environmental and safety requirements

Benefits of Our Polyolefin Materials

  • Compounds for construction: Our LSZH materials offer excellent processability on most polyvinyl chloride (PVC)/polyethylene (PE) extrusion equipment, high mechanical strength and low water permeability, as well as being UV-stabilised and suitable for coloring. In addition, they often enable downsizing, supporting you to meet your sustainability goals.
  • Compounds for automotive: Our XLPE solutions offer halogen-free flame retardancy, temperature performance of -40°C to 125 °C, as well as excellent heat stability and easy extrusion. They also exhibit non-tarnishing characteristics and easy colorability.
