Industrial
Longer-lasting, corrosion-resistant pipe systems
Pipes play a critical role in various industrial settings, including mining installations, pressure sewage, chemical processing and seawater applications. These pipes require high safety margins to withstand rigors such as multi-axial stresses, frequent impact loading, and pressure surges. Polyolefins offers many advantages over conventional metal materials, including superior resistance to corrosion, abrasion and chemicals, lower installation costs, and longer in-service lifetime.
Our BorSafe™ polyethylene (PE) grades are suitable for producing pipes up to two meters in diameter, and offer excellent anti-sagging properties. A cost-effective solution for a wide range of industrial pipe applications, their resistance to seawater makes them especially suited for submarine outfall pipes or seawater intake pipelines. In addition, our beta-nucleated polypropylene (PP) materials offer outstanding chemical resistance at high temperatures up to 95⁰C, making them ideal for applications involving hot or aggressive fluids.
Benefits of Our Polyolefin Materials
Outstanding durability: Our BorSafe PE and PP grades offer unparalleled corrosion, chemical, and abrasion resistance compared to metallic and other non-metallic alternatives.
- Excellent temperature resistance: Depending on the pressure conditions and expected lifetime, PE pipe systems can be operated at temperatures up to 60°C, while PP systems offer temperature resistance up to 95°C.
- Cost-effective: Pipes with a long service life and requiring minimal maintenance result in lower lifetime costs.
